Mt. Apo Eco-Tourism Development Project Moves Forward

March 02, 2026

The City Tourism Office has announced progress on the Mt. Apo Eco-Tourism Development Project, aimed at promoting sustainable tourism while preserving the natural beauty of the Philippines' highest peak.

The project includes the development of eco-friendly trails, establishment of camping facilities, installation of informational signages, and training of local guides.

Mt. Apo, standing at 2,954 meters above sea level, is located at the boundary of Kidapawan City and attracts thousands of climbers and nature enthusiasts annually.

The project also integrates environmental conservation measures, including watershed protection and biodiversity monitoring programs in coordination with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office.

Local communities in the Mt. Apo area will benefit from livelihood programs tied to eco-tourism activities.
